2 1/2 year old could not go all day yesterday, he tried but nothing happened. now he is sleeping but is having a rough night, he is constipated. We are the grand-parents, any over the counter medication? to help him go? is this normal? we do not want to call his parents unless is is absolutely needed.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a pediatrician and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible causes like congenital hypothyroidism also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
